Job Summary:

The Director of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will lead our AI initiatives and drive innovation across the organization. This role will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of AI, overseeing the design and implementation of machine learning and AI systems, and managing a team of talented engineers, researchers, and data scientists. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership and business acumen to deliver impactful AI solutions aligned with organizational goals.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·      AI Strategy & Leadership Define and execute the company’s AI roadmap aligned with business priorities. Evaluate and prioritize AI opportunities across departments (e.g., product, operations, customer service). Champion the adoption of AI technologies and foster a culture of innovation.

·      Team Management Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of AI professionals. Promote professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.

·      Project Oversight Lead end-to-end development of AI/ML models and systems, from ideation to deployment. Oversee data collection, cleaning, and management practices to support AI initiatives. Ensure timely delivery and scalability of AI solutions.

·      Collaboration & Communication Work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders. Translate complex AI concepts into clear business impacts for executive audiences.

·      Compliance & Ethics Establish ethical guidelines and ensure compliance with data privacy and AI regulations. Mitigate risks associated with AI deployment (bias, explainability, security, etc.).

·      Lead or support key improvement projects across different departments, ensuring timelines, budgets, and outcomes are met.

  • Track and report on project performance, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on action items.
  • Provide guidance and expertise in the implementation of new processes, systems, and technologies.

·      Foster an environment of innovation and collaboration, encouraging cross-functional teams to drive improvement initiatives.

·      Lead or support key improvement projects across different departments, ensuring timelines, budgets, and outcomes are met.

·      Other duties assigned:

Assist with warehouse tasks and other duties as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the shipping department.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·      Proficiency with programming languages and frameworks such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

 

Education and Experience:

·      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

·      8+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI-related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

     Physical Requirements:

·      Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·      Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
