Job Summary:
The Director of Storytelling & Brand Voice is the architect of Odd Sox’s verbal identity and brand narrative. The Director will own and elevate the way we communicate across all platforms—social, digital, editorial, campaign, and partnership. This is a leadership role that blends creative direction, hands-on copywriting, and strategic storytelling. The Director will lead the development of compelling short- and long-form content, shape the tone of voice across marketing channels, and ensure every message feels unmistakably Odd Sox.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Own the Brand Voice: Develop and refine the Odd Sox tone, ensuring it’s consistently applied across all touchpoints—from Instagram captions to product tags to partnership decks.
· Lead Storytelling Strategy: Build and execute content narratives that resonate with our audience, reinforce brand values, and differentiate us in the market.
· Campaign Copy Leadership: Write or oversee campaign copy for launches, partnerships, and major marketing moments—balancing bold creativity with commercial impact.
· Social Content & Scripts: Guide and generate short-form content ideas, captions, video scripts, and voiceover direction for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
· Copywriting Oversight: Supervise, create and collaborate with internal/external copywriters and creatives to ensure message quality, clarity, and consistency.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, e-commerce, product, and marketing teams to deliver unified, engaging content across email, website, ads, packaging, etc.
· Narrative Development: Build and maintain a storytelling calendar to align with brand initiatives, cultural moments, and product drops.

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
· Deep knowledge of screenplay format, story structure, and character development.
· Strong portfolio of film, television, or interactive media scripts.
· Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
· Experience with CMS platforms, SEO tools, and digital analytics preferred.
· Proven track record of leading successful content initiatives.
· Experience leading or managing creatives, freelancers, or content teams.
· Deep understanding of social media culture and how to craft content that stops thumbs.
· Comfort working cross-functionally and juggling multiple projects on tight deadlines.
· Bonus: background in advertising, journalism, or entertainment writing.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in film, Creative Writing, or related field; MFA, or equivalent experience.
· 6+ years’ experience in copywriting, brand storytelling, content strategy, or related creative roles (fashion, lifestyle, or youth-driven brands a plus).
· Proven ability to write compelling copy in a distinct brand voice across digital and physical platforms.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
